Witnesses in Hunter Biden's federal firearms trial include his ex-girlfriends.

In an effort to highlight the severity of Hunter Biden's drug use, which they claim persisted at the time he completed the paperwork to purchase a firearm, the ex-wife of the former presidential candidate was brought to testify on Wednesday in his federal gun trial.

Kathleen Buhle and Hunter Biden were wed for about 20 years. Their marriage broke down in 2016 due to his drug misuse and infidelity, as she detailed in her memoir "If We Break." They had three children together. On July 3, 2015, a day after their anniversary, Buhle testified that she realized her husband was abusing

narcotics when she discovered a crack pipe in an ashtray on their porch. "He acknowledged smoking crack" when she questioned him, she claimed.

Given that Hunter had previously been expelled from the Navy after testing positive for cocaine, Buhle had suspicions about his drug use even before she discovered it.

She admitted, "I was definitely scared and worried."

She is one of many friends and family members of Hunter Biden who are anticipated to testify in this trial, which has swiftly turned into an in-depth look at the drug usage and missteps of the former presidential candidate. As the 2024 presidential election approaches, allies are concerned about the toll the procedures will have on the president, who is very worried about his sole surviving son's health and continued sobriety. The testimony, according to the prosecution, is required to demonstrate Hunter Biden's mental state at the time he made the gun purchase.
